A couple of things jumped out at me when reading this...When Jessie doesn't get the part of Peter Pan, I was surprised it wasn't turned into "I didn't get the part because I'm black" thing. If there had a been a Super Special #16, what would you have wanted it to be about?

I'd been wanting to read Here Come the Bridesmaids for ages.  It's the last Super Special I hadn't read, and I really like Carol, and usually I like Dawn.  But UGH.  The best plot was Mr. Schafer's wedding and Dawn's/Jeff's reactions to it, and even that wasn't great.  The C plot of Jessi playing Santa Claus was SO boring; the eleven-year-old ( Read more... )

A lot of characters in kids' books have it pretty good, from calling the start of the wild rumpus to ordering room service from their hotel suite. If you could be any character from children's literature, who would you be?

I just started rereading SS7, Baby-sitters at Shadow Lake, which has always been, I guess, my least-favorite Super Special. Or maybe it's just the least-memorable as far as I'm concerned; I almost never think of it at all when I'm thinking about the BSC books. I stop reading officially reading before Abby came, so I missed most of the books that were published after that. Especially all those mysteries.
